In this work are presented the results from the research in which primary aim is to see if there is a connection between parents ’styles of education and adolescents’ self-esteem. The research is made on sample of 84 third year students (38 man and 46 women) from two secondary schools in Skopje. In the research it was used a Scale for assessment parents ’ styles of education and two scales for measuring self- esteem: Rosenberg scale for global self-esteem and Scale for measuring current self-esteem.
For getting the results are used statistical measurements, like arithmetical mean (M), standard deviation (SD), Pearson ’s coefficient of correlation (r) and t-test for the differences between arithmetical means.
We can conclude that adolescents ’ self-esteem is in positive correlation with parents ’ emotionally worm style of education, and that the correlation with parents ’ careful and favorable style of education is negative. Also, negative correlation is noticed between mother’s neglected and inconsistently style of education and adolescents ’ selfesteem.
