The poverty is a multidimensional phenomenon which corresponds to certain living conditions which mean that there isn't a possibility to participate in the social life of the community we belong to.
There are numerous factors for its persistence.
This work considers only one factor - the education, analysing
only part of the important issues and segments of the upbringing and
the education of the poor families in the Republic of Macedonia. In
that context the situation of the poverty in the Republic of Macedonia
is analyzed and answers are given to the following questions:
■ Is the education of the poor people a cause for the poverty in the Republic of Macedonia?
■ Is there a difference in the education degree between the
newly impoverished households, the traditionally poor
households and the chronically poor households in the
Republic of Macedonia ? and
■ What are the aspirations of the poor people for further
education of the newly impoverished households, the
chronically poor households and the traditionally poor
households?
This work tends to give its own scientific contribution to the
phenomenon of the poverty as well as to the reduction of the poverty
by stimulating the poor households to educate themselves.
