ETHNIC DISCOURSE AND GROUP PRESENTATION IN MODERN BULGARIAN SOCIETY

Abstract

The study of the various ethnic and religious groups living in Bulgaria started only 10 years ago, when the democratic changes took place in the ex-socialist countries. Since that time various research projects in that perspective have been carried out in the social sciences and the humanities. The following analysis is based on data, collected from three such research projects in the field of ethnology.
Methodologically these projects were orientated to developing discourse analysis in ethnological and folkloristic study.
