Abstract

Strategic innovation management (SIM) is a systematic approach to managing innovation in organizations. In the defense sector, strategic innovation management can provide
numerous benefits, such as increased efficiency, improved capability, and enhanced competitiveness. By using strategic innovation management, defense organizations can align their
innovation efforts with their strategic objectives, prioritize resources, and ensure that new
technologies and processes are effectively integrated into existing systems. Additionally, strategic innovation management can help organizations foster a culture of innovation, encourage
collaboration, and mitigate risks associated with innovation. To maximize the benefits of
strategic innovation management in the defense sector, it is essential that organizations
establish clear processes and guidelines, regularly assess their innovation performance, and
continuously evaluate and adjust their strategic innovation management strategies to meet
evolving demands. This abstract will explore the key elements of conceptual frameworks
for strategic innovation management, including their relevance to different industries and
the challenges of implementing them successfully. Additionally, it will highlight some of the
current trends and future directions in this field, such as the integration of the concept for
Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Implementation in the Ministry of defense. Ultimately,
the insight gained from these frameworks can help organization enhance their capacity for
innovation, stay ahead of the competition, and achieve long-term success.
