In the Macedonian language, there is terminological imprecision in defining the term "Greek", especially in relation to the language, for which the developmental periods are not exactly marked, and their naming is not based on generally accepted categorizations. If there is some consistency in the designation of the language from the classical period, the same cannot be said for modern Greek, for which the form that refers to the entire historical existence of the language (or more often, to the period of antiquity) is used. This manuscript elaborates on such situations and, through comparative analysis, suggests considerations for their correction.
