The contribution articulates some terminological problems facing the Macedonian reception of the fundamental conceptual and theoretical dichotomy of Gemainshaft/ Gesellschaft (in the German), and Community/ Society (in the English) sociology. The author pints out the weaknesses of the existing terminological solutions. In that direction, the author critically reviews the contribution of Tomisalv Cokrevski. Us one of the most prominent representatives of the first generation of Macedonian sociologists, Cokrevski had faced the problematic of this dichotomy. Building on his uncompleted attempt, the author develops alternative solution. It is framed within the contemporary understandings of the socioontology of the above mentioned classical dichotomy as it is assumed within the modern and contemporary theories of civil society.
