Abstract

The novels “Hana” and “Blind Map” are an exceptionally interesting example, since we faced a whole specter of influences when selecting past tenses in their translation. Therefore, the choice of tense was not entirely dependent on the context and the chronology of events in the novel, but on the acts of narration of the well-known Czech writer, as well.
