ORGANIZATION OF SCIENTIFIC MEETING

Abstract

After successful organization of the last year's International Symposium for early intervention and developmental disorders, the Association of Special Educators and Rehabilitators of the Republic of Macedonia continues its activities for promoting the theory and practice of special education through organizing professional events.
At the meeting held on 26.12.2011, the presidency of the Association decided to organize a symposium with the subject "Inclusive education - current status, future challenges". Aside the Association, among the organizers will be the Macedonian Ministry of Education and Sciences and the Faculty of Philosophy - Institute of Special Education and Rehabilitation. The symposium will be held from 17th until 19th of May 2012, in Strumica. The conference has three main goals:

1. to present the developed systems of             inclusive education;
2. to get an overview of the existing condition of the inclusive process in Macedonia from            the primarily involved parties’ perspective;
3. to get an overview of the challenges that Macedonia will face moving towards improvement of the inclusive education for children with special needs in the    preschools and the elementary and    secondary schools.
