Abstract

The Republic of Macedonia took part with three sportsmen in sport archery: Branimir Jovanovski, Vancho Karanfilov and Olivera Nikolovska-Bikova at the Para-Olympic Games in Athens in 2004.

Accompanied by dramatic turns at matches, followed up not only by psychic, but by technically unpredicted events (stage freight and weapons’ defects), with extraordinary tension and a great concentration, the Macedonian contestants gained more than expected in a great worldwide competition.
Namely, among the three contestants, Vancho Karanfilov won a silver medal, Branimir Jovanovski won the fifth place and Olivera Nakovska-Bikova won the sixth place for women.
