Abstract

On the 6th June 2008 in Veternik, a place near the city of Novi Sad in the Republic of Serbia, an educative seminar was held on the topic: Multi­ple disability-accompanied conditions, in or­ganiza­tion of Hospice for children and youth with dis­ability and the Medicine Faculty of city of Novi Sad.

The seminar was intended for all medical stuff which has direct contacts and treats children with multiple disabilities: pediatricians, physiatrists, neurologists, psychiatrists as well as all profiles of special educators and rehabilitators and psy­chologists.

About 70 subjects participated at the seminar, and it was spoken about:

·         Prevention of delivery of children with con­genital abnormalities hereditary disorder;

·         Structure of motor impairments in children with intellectual disability;

·         The role of the sensory integration in work with persons with multiple disability;

·          The meaning of the differential diagnosis of hearing impairments, autism and autism with hearing impairments;

·         Application of open Montessori programme as alternative method for persons with severe disability on the younger age;

·         Education of the family of the member with multiple disability;

·         Prader-Willi syndrome- problems of the ac­companied symptoms;

·         Integral approach in care for the persons with Lesch-Nyhan syndrome.

Representative of our state at that seminar was Dr. Vladimir Trajkovski, associate professor at the “Ss Cyril and Methodius” University-Skopje, Faculty of Philosophy-Institute of Special Education and Rehabilitation, who directed the present guests’ attention on the topic which he presented: Physiological abnormalities in au­tism.
