AI policy
Economy, Business & Development (EB&D) recognizes the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in academic research and writing and encourages its ethical, responsible, and transparent use. AI tools may be used to support tasks such as language editing, proofreading, and formatting; however, authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, validity, and integrity of all submitted work. AI systems cannot be listed as authors, as they are unable to assume responsibility for the content or meet the requirements of authorship. Authors are expected to disclose any substantial use of AI tools in the preparation of their manuscripts. AI can assist researchers in various stages of their work, but the ideas, interpretations, and conclusions presented in a manuscript should always reflect the authors’ own scholarly judgment and expertise.
Reviewers are expected to treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents. To protect authors’ work and preserve the integrity of the peer-review process, manuscripts and related materials should not be uploaded to publicly available AI tools or external AI platforms. Any use of AI by reviewers should be limited, appropriate, and consistent with the journal’s confidentiality requirements.
Editors may use AI tools to support routine editorial tasks, such as language improvement or administrative work. However, decisions regarding manuscript evaluation, peer review, acceptance, or rejection are made solely by the editorial team. Editors remain responsible for ensuring that editorial decisions are fair, independent, and based on scholarly merit.
