THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF VIRTUAL MUSEUMS
Keywords:
museum, virtual, digital, digitization, digital humanitiesAbstract
Virtual museums are an increasingly prevalent tool within the digital humanities. They represent cultural spaces that are interactive, multimodal, and nonlinear in their structure, thus opening up new possibilities for research, interpretation, or production of humanistic knowledge. The project “Virtual Museum Koneski” has a multifaceted goal that is mainly educational and cultural. Its main task is the digital preservation, presentation and promotion of the life and work of Blaze Koneski (1921-1993) through modern virtual tools, accessible to the wider public. More specifically, the project strives to preserve cultural heritage, through the digitization and systematization of archival materials (manuscripts, photographs, documents, works) from the legacy of Blaze Koneski. It has educational value, by creating a resource that can be used in teaching, research and self-education.
