Abstract

In this paper we want to look at the process of creating metafictional texts as a form of interaction of different social, ideological and literary discourses. The subject of our analysis will be the historical novel Possession by A.S. Bayat, which we consider to be a suitable work for this type of research, as a metafictional text that juxtaposes two different historical periods, the Victorian and the modern period in Great Britain. In order to better analyze this process, we will use Mikhail Bakhtin’s thesis on foreign speech, which he elaborates in his work “Marxism and the Philosophy of Language”.
