THE INFLUENCE OF MACEDONIAN LANGUAGE ON THE GRAMMATICAL STRUCTURE OF MEGLENO-ROMANIAN

The paper examines the influence of the Macedonian language on Megleno-Romanian. In view of the fact that Megleno-Romanian is an enclave surrounded predominantly by more numerous inhabitants of Macedonian descent it is natural that Macedonian exerted a strong influence on Megleno-Romanian language on phonetic, morphological, syntactic and lexical levels. The loans from Macedonian includ verbal endings with verbs of Latin origin, morphological markers of aspect distinction and a large number of lexical loans and calques that follow the Macedonian pattern.
