This paper highlights the principal issues and concerns about non-traditional global security threats upon national security and regional stability. It reflects the widespread\ international concern about the impact that organized crime, corruption, narcotic trade, terrorism and human trafficking are having on political and regional stability and economic vitality of the states.
Rapidly increasing global interdependence brings with it new threats and vulnerabilities as well as new choices and opportunities.
Responses to security threats considered in this sense should involve both state institutions and civil society. The promotion of security in such a globalize world depends on the willingness and ability of governments, citizens, corporations, and civil society organizations to contribute to the creation of a safe, equitable, and just global community.
Security is not just a question of external threats to national sovereignty, security also means an effectively functioning society.
Ultimately, the requirements of global peace and security are also the requirements of national security.
