COORDINATION OF THE NATIONAL SECURITY SYSTEM OF THE REPUBLIC OF SLOVENIA

Abstract

Coordination of security community in Slovenia represents a very complex segment of the national security system of the Republic of Slovenia. Republic of Slovenia is one of the few post-communist countries which has succeeded to establish the fundaments of the security system relatively fast. Furthermore, it has also started considering coordination as inner mechanism and important function of the security sector. The rapid transformation and reorganization undertaken in the security sector by Slovenia, has also brought to radical steps in the security sector, which enabled i.e. paved the way of this country toward its full NATO membership.
