This socio-historical sketching of Skopje is an attempt to contemplate on modernization circumstances and conditions that had to produce there "a veritable social revolution". Through the authentic officials' reports and plans, it was possible to deal with Yugoslav government's acting and intentions, its efficiency, but also to perceive social background of urbanization as well as to measure the obstructing influence of prevailed feudal tradition.
